Virtual Set Production What's exciting about this new technology, is that the computer generated sets are three dimensional. The movement and focal length of the camera are tracked by computer so that as the camera p.o.v. changes the computer generated background plate of the virtual set change correspondingly. The virtual set in effect becomes three dimensional. For instance, if the camera were to dolly 360 degrees around the fighting vehicle pictured here, the audience would see all four walls of the research lab.
